Eevee’s Thanksgiving Weekend: Gratitude, Tail Wags, and Community Care

As the autumn leaves settled across Olympia and the days grew a little cozier, Eevee, our beloved therapy dog at Genuine Healthcare, celebrated Thanksgiving weekend in the way she knows best—by spreading comfort, calm, and a few well-timed snuggles.

While many families gathered around dinner tables, Eevee spent her long weekend doing what she loves most: being present, offering joy, and reminding us all what gratitude truly looks like.

Nature Walks and Mindful Moments

When she wasn’t greeting visitors at Genuine Healthcare, Eevee enjoyed some well-earned downtime. Her handler took her on peaceful fall walks through Olympia’s wooded trails, where she sniffed every leaf, greeted passing joggers, and paused often to sit quietly—her own version of mindfulness practice.

We like to think she was reflecting on the year too.

Therapy Comes in Many Forms (Yes, Even Turkey-Flavored Treats)

Eevee didn’t indulge in human Thanksgiving foods (the clinic’s official stance: no pies for pups), but she did get a special holiday treat—a crunchy turkey-flavored biscuit that she accepted with great enthusiasm and zero regrets.

She proudly showed it off to anyone who would look.

A Reminder of Gratitude

Thanksgiving often reminds us of what we’re grateful for, and Eevee is high on our list.

She helps patients feel safe.
She brings joy into heavy moments.
She turns our lobby into a softer, kinder space.
She reminds us that healing isn’t only about words—sometimes it’s about presence.

Here at Genuine Healthcare, we’re thankful for a community that welcomes holistic approaches to mental wellness, and for the four-legged friend who meets people where they are, every single day.

Looking Ahead

As we move into winter, Eevee will continue her work supporting clients, staff, and anyone who needs a furry moment of comfort. Whether she’s sitting quietly beside someone during a difficult session or greeting a nervous newcomer with a gentle nudge, Eevee is a reminder that compassion comes in many forms—and sometimes it has floppy ears.

From all of us at Genuine Healthcare (and from Eevee), we hope your Thanksgiving was filled with warmth, connection, and moments of peace.

If you’d like updates on Eevee’s adventures or want to learn more about our therapy services in Olympia, stay tuned—she has plenty more stories to share. 🧡
